  2. I was looking for a pattern for to make into my rag quilt. It is the blueprint type so I can put the material together to make an awsome quilt. I love quilting and I have made 2 fleece rag quilts for my 2 granddaughters last year and now I am going to try a cotton quilt rag for my grand sons in a smaller block and I am needing a blueprint . Thanks for listening to me

    1. For those that haven’t tried a rag quilt yet, Nana presented a post on our sister site, with ideas and tips on how to make one. My kids and grandkids absolutely love these as “TV” quilts.

Good luck with this one Sharon. I would love to see your finished product!

  3. Good morning. I have a question as to why you Un-Pick one seam in each column?

    1. Joyce,
I have not tried this pattern. It was written by one of my peers at Sew Can She. I looked at the pattern and the reason you should “unpick” a seam is to create the pattern. Without a change in the starting color, all the rows will be the same.

Let me know if you have more questions. Hope you enjoy the pattern and the quilt!

    2. I want to make the quilt but I want it to be queen size. Any suggestions on how I can increase this and make it work for me

      1. Sheila,
To change the size of this quilt, there are a couple things you can do. Change the size of the blocks. Or continue the pattern by adding squares needed to the coloring chart.

A queen size quilt is normally 76-84 inches wide and 90-104 inches long. The pattern finishes at 54 x 63 using 5 inch strips. Increase the strips to 7-1/2″ will make your quilt 84 x 98. Of course your strip sets won’t be as long so you will need to watch the chart closely to be sure the right squares are in the correct order.

Good luck. I would love to see pictures of your finished quilt. Please tag @whatsnanamaking2019
