ABOUT KOS GREECE

Kos is one of the most beloved tourist destinations of the Dodecanese Islands!
Known for its historical sites, beautiful beaches, and lush vegetation, the island is visited by almost 1 million tourists every year!
The island has a 5,000-year-long history and has been influenced by many cultures, such as the Ancient Greeks, the Romans, the Venetians, the medieval Knights, and the Ottomans.
Thanks to the remains of all these cultures, sightseeing is one of the best things to do on the island.

The most renowned place of interest has to be the Asklepieion, one of the top holistic healing centers of the ancient world, which followed the medical guidelines of Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine.
Other sights worth visiting include churches, the Neratzia Medieval Castle, the ancient Greek Agora, and the castle of Antimachia.

Concerning beaches, the options are endless! Sandy, shingly, busy, secluded, organized, and unorganized beaches are available on the island, offering options for every taste!
Don’t miss the opportunity to visit some of the island's best seashores, such as Kardamena Beach, Tigaki Beach, Mastichari Beach, and Marmari Beach.

Of course, we can't skip mentioning the excellent hotels that you can book for your stay in Kos!
The island is famous for its all-inclusive hotels, which are preferred by families with children. However, one can find options for different budgets in various locations on the island.

Lastly, a fact that may come as a surprise, is that one of the recommended activities to do is cycling. In fact, Kos is also known as the “cycling island”, since the bicycle is a very popular means of transportation.
There’s also a 13-kilometer-long cycling road starting from Faros Beach and ending at Psalidi. In addition to that, though, there are many mountain trails, ideal for cycling in nature.
