Kos is one of the most beloved tourist destinations of the Dodecanese Islands!

Other sights worth visiting include churches, the Neratzia Medieval Castle, the ancient Greek Agora, and the castle of Antimachia.
Concerning beaches, the options are endless! Sandy, shingly, busy, secluded, organized, and unorganized beaches are available on the island, offering options for every taste!

Lastly, a fact that may come as a surprise, is that one of the recommended activities to do is cycling. In fact, Kos is also known as the “cycling island”, since the bicycle is a very popular means of transportation.
There’s also a 13-kilometer-long cycling road starting from Faros Beach and ending at Psalidi. In addition to that, though, there are many mountain trails, ideal for cycling in nature.

Ancient Asklepieon
The ancient sanctuary of Asklepios lies close to the Town. It was a healing center where Hippocrates, the father of medicine, used to teach.
Thermes beach
The famous beach of Thermes has distinguishing black pebbles and thermal waters. The latter have healing properties.
Thermal Springs
In Agios Fokas, one can find a sea pool with hot springs known as "thermes". The place is well-known as one of the most outstanding places in Kos.
Ancient Gymnasium
The Hellenistic Gymnasium is a part of a complex dating back to the Hellenistic and Roman periods. The complex also included a stadium and an odeon.
Kos Town
The main town is a beautiful place with stunning architecture. The old part of the town presents a Medieval style, with Venetian houses and Ottoman mosques.
Kastri Islet
Kastri is a tiny island opposite the beach of Agios Stefanos. Remains of fortification and a small church are found on this islet, which is reachable by boat.
Basilicas of Saint Stephen
The Basilicas of Saint Stephen are a complex of Paleo-Christian basilicas near Kamari Beach. They date from the 5th and the 6th century AD.
Casa Romana
This is a beautiful Roman mansion with an architecture reminiscent of the houses in Pompeii. Inside, one can admire some remarkable frescoes and nice atriums.
Archaeological Museum
The Archaeological Museum stands in the heart of Kos Town. It exhibits findings from the Ancient Agora, the Asklepieion and other sites on the island.
Ottoman Mosques
The mosques of Kos Town stand as reminder of the Ottoman rule on the island, which lasted about four centuries.
Nerantzia Castle
The Castle of Nerantzia is a Medieval Castle at the port of the island's capital. It is an interesting monument to explore and offers lovely views of the Aegean Sea.
Windsurfing
Windsurfing is a popular sport on the island of Kos. The best places for windsurfing and kitesurfing are the beaches of Mastihari, Tigaki, Psalidi and Kefalos.
