Overall the experience has been great! The school is small, but you get to know the people around you better even if they're not in your class. Campus is small, but it is close to Dallas so there is always a ton to do in the city from the farmer's market, shopping at the mall, and restaurants. UD is a Catholic University, so there isn't really a "party scene" and the religion aspect heavily influences a lot of campus life. That being said, being close to Dallas is definitely a benefit to take advantage of the night life opportunities in many of the neighborhoods like Greenville and Deep Ellum. I personally am not very religious and there hasn't been an issue on campus, even though some students do try to push their beliefs onto you.

The University of Dallas is a school dedicated to academics, research, and complete devotion towards Catholicism.
This, to many who choose this school, is a big positive - and I'd recommend it to any homeschooled/private schooled hardcore Catholic kid with a love for the liberal arts. For any one who doesn't exactly fit these categories, look somewhere else!
Many students here are intensely Conservative/Catholic - and it's very rare to find people who don't fit that mold exactly. Still, a lot of the people are nice - and there's a great sense of community.
As for academics, we have a passible STEM program, and a good Liberal Arts core. The core classes are very exhausting and don't really help you. If you like Theology and Philosophy -it's good! Our Art Departments are dedicated, but small and outdated.
Clubs are very inactive, and unless you're in certain cliques, student life is non-existent. Parties are small, but pleasant. A U.D. experience genuinely depends on your friends.

Going to UD is easily the best choice I have ever made. It is academically rigorous, and the small class size ensures you truly do learn an incredible amount. I love the student population, and the faculty, and the school traditions. If I could see anything changed, it would probably be that the dorms kinda suck, and the food isn't the best (also, my beloved Drama department deserves better space, but that's currently in the works) -- but those were pretty expected as a part of college life.
